Shanti came to us from Dawn at Joramba, I will remain forever grateful for this wonderful dog.
She is a true Lady and is part of the foundations for the future here at Krisannrio.
Shanti has the most fantastic, gentle but outgoing temperament, she loves everybody, especially if they will play with her!
Her drive is absolutely phenominal, she would willingly work all day and be very happy to do so.

She is agile and strong, a good sized bitch at 25" at the withers, but it is her shape that puts the icicng on the cake for this young lady, her conformation is perfect in my eyes, she has a beautiful topline as a result of her English and old German bloodlines, not overdone in any way just a joy to behold.

She has perfect teeth and a lovely strong head, with a temperament that is outstanding, a true joy to own.
She is the most gentle GSD I have ever owned, there is not a malicious bone in her body although she will happily sound the 'alert' and takes her 'home security' duties very seriously !
With Vienna..... (click on the picture below and it will take you to a short video of the first time Shanti met Vienna ~ be patient, it may take a minute or two to get going)

Here she meets our new kitten, all Shanti wanted to do was lick it, the kitten was none too impressed !!

Here she is kissing Winnie our 14 year old Retriever.

She loves to spend time in the grooming studio, greeting all the customers and their dogs, she will try to put new customers at their ease by gently saying hello, here she greets a Husky.

Shanti is incredibly playful, she will play with anyone who visits and they get fed up long before she ever does ! She has developed a knack of 'chucking' her toy at you, and is a perfect shot at getting it on your knee !!
She thoroughly enjoys activity of any kind and if it involves water then so much the better !!
Here the kids set up some jumps for her.

It was an immediate hit with her and is a favourite activity now she is old enough for agility.

Shanti has always enjoyed swimming and it is her number one favourite activity, if it's combines with a retrieve then she is in doggy heaven.

She will even dive for her toy.....

See Shanti and the rest of the Krisannrio dogs
on their Youtube channel.
And if the pool or the sea are not available to her she will quite happily make do with the water butt !!

Here she is with two of our other dogs, Winnie and Tally the Labrador, who looks like batfink in this photo with her ears standing on end !!

She is an awesome sight at full gait.

And if you are without a toy - she will supply one !!

Seen here with best mate Harvey

Here she is the day she came to Krisannrio, a 7 week old babe.

A little older..........

Sporting a pair of newly erect ears, here strong head is starting to make itself known.

She is around 9 months old here and this photograph went into a long coated gsd calendar, she was'Miss October'

Here is another photograph taken on the same day.

A little older.......

Fully gown at 23 months

When Shanti had just turned 2 years, she gave birth for the first time to a beautiful litter. Here she is very pregnant and loving it !!

She remained active throughtout her pregnancy and had a straightforward birth producing 8 puppies, 4 girls, 4 boys, four of which were sable and four black and gold.
If you click on the link below, it will take you to some very graphic pictures of the birth of Shanti's first litter, they are magigcal photographs, with 3 different birth sequences, but be warned, they are exactly as it happens and it can get messy !!
I would like to point out that Shanti whelped onto several brand new squares of carpet, which had been doubled over to be removed when badly soiled. I do not whelp onto newspaper as I think it can get slippy for the bitch and the new born pups have nothing to get a grip of. When welphing is completely done with, we then swap over onto vet bed.

Extensive pictures of the litter age birth to 7 weeks can be found by clicking on the picture below:-

Please see our puppy pages to view the progress of this litter to the present time, by clicking on the picture below:-

It was an excellent litter and is due to be repeated around March of this year, 2008. Enquiries can be made here :-

Shanti proved herself to be a capable and caring Mother, when her litter was 6 weeks old we got a new addition from Aristima, we called her Tiffany and Shanti adopted her as her own, this worked well because we kept a puppy from Shanti's litter also and called her Laska, they have been as sisters ever since and can be found on their own pages.
Here she is with the two of them when they were aged 7 and 9 weeks.
